While Advanced Mode offers three watering options, its limited functionality makes it less suitable for most users and is not recommended. When setting up a Zone, you can configure the following:
- Zone Details – Define the specific characteristics of the area being watered.
- Watering Type – Choose the appropriate irrigation method for the zone.
- Advanced Settings – Access additional controls for fine-tuning zone behavior.
Zone Details
- Enter a Name for the zone (e.g., Front Garden, Back Drip).
- Select the zone Number that corresponds to the wiring on the controller.
- Add a custom Image or select from the available icons.
Watering Type
- Select from the available list: Times-Based, Virtual Solar Sync, or Smart (ET). Learn More
- Enter the Watering Duration for the zone (0-1,440 min).
- Select the Watering Frequency: Every Program Start Time or Interval-Based watering.
- Select the Predictive Watering options. Learn More
Advanced Settings
Cycle and Soak: This feature allows users to split each station’s run time into more manageable, shorter-duration watering sessions. This feature applies particularly to slopes and tight soil (such as clay) because Cycle and Soak will help prevent excessive runoff. Learn More
Controller Insights:
| Feature | Description | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flow Rate | Controllers now use the “next run” to determine the reference flow rate for any zone that is newly added to a configured flow meter. A valid run is a watering duration of one minute or more and a flow rate of 1.3 GPM (5 l/min) or more. Flow rates lower than 1.3 GPM (5 l/min) may take additional runs to develop a reference flow rate. | |||||||
| Electrical Current (low and high) | Controllers now use the “next run” to determine a reference electrical current for any newly added zone. A valid run is a watering duration of one minute or more. | |||||||
| Low - A configured alert is triggered whenever the current falls below the threshold of 70 mA. | ||||||||
High - A configured alert is triggered whenever the current exceeds the threshold.
