Controller Insights is a powerful tool that provides real-time visibility into the health and performance of your irrigation controllers and zones. Whether you're managing a single site or multiple properties, Controller Insights helps you stay ahead of potential issues and maintain optimal system performance with minimal effort.
- Not Connected: Controllers that are not connected to the internet in the last five minutes.
- Electrical: Zones with electrical issues. After a beta period, this feature will be available as an optional upgrade.
- Flow: Zones with flow issues. This report is applicable only to controllers with an HC Flow Meter installed. After a beta period, this feature will be available as an optional upgrade.
During this beta period, we encourage customers to provide feedback on these new features. The embedded form in the app can be used to submit the feedback.
View Controller Insights
- Sign in to your Hydrawise account.
- From the top of the Home screen, tap on the Controller Selection icon (
). - Tap Controller Insights.
Set Controller Insights
- Sign in to your Hydrawise account.
- Tap the Menu icon in the upper left.
- Tap Zones & Programs.
- Tap Zones.
- Scroll to the Zone to update its values, then tap the Edit icon.
- Scroll down and tap on Advanced Settings.
- Use the toggle slider to choose either Learn Flow or Learn Current for the next run. If the data has been previously learned, the current values will be displayed.

| Flow Rate | Controllers now use the “next run” to determine the reference flow rate for any zone that is newly added to a configured flow meter. A valid run is a watering duration of one minute or more and a flow rate of 1.3 GPM (5 l/min) or more. Flow rates lower than 1.3 GPM (5 l/min) may take additional runs to develop a reference flow rate. | |||||||
| Electrical Current (low and high) | Controllers now use the “next run” to determine a reference electrical current for any newly added zone. A valid run is a watering duration of one minute or more. | |||||||
| Low - A configured alert is triggered whenever the current falls below the threshold of 70 mA. | ||||||||
