Centralus™ - ICC2 Network Connection Tips

Centralus provides three network connection types when using the ICC2 controller: WIFIKIT, LANKIT, and CELLKIT. Explore the section below for tips on supporting connections.
Controller CommunicationWebsite Communication
  • Communication Port: TCP- 8883/443
  • IoT Endpoint Name: a3ctijj2jmv8d5-ats.iot.us-east-1.amazonaws.com
WIFIKIT

Module stuck in connection mode: If the red light on the left side of the module blinks continuously, the module has lost its connection and is waiting for new instructions. This is very rare, but it requires a smartphone to access the communication module and re-establish the connection to the router.

Led StatusDescription
1st Led
  • Flash Red when in direct connect mode.
  • Flash Green when trying to connect to the Wi-Fi access point.
  • Solid Green when connected to a Wi-Fi Access Point.
  • Solid Red if a connection to the Wi-Fi Access point failed.
2nd Led
  • Light is off if there is no central connection.
  • Solid Green is connected to Centralus.
  • Solid Red if the Centralus connection failed.
  • Flash Amber when receiving a message from Centralus.
3rd Led
  • If a flow sensor is installed, this LED will flash when the flow is detected. This light will always be Blank when no flow is detected.
  • The rate of the flash will be proportionate to the rate of the flow.
  • Red when there is a flow alarm. This is only applicable if the high flow shutdown is done by the WIFIKIT, not the ICC2 facepack.
LANKIT
If the first two LEDs are solid green, the attempt was successful. The LANKIT is now connected to both the router and the Centralus server. Proceed to Software Setup. If connectivity issues persist, use the chart below to verify the next steps for resolving connection challenges.
Led StatusDescription
Solid Red

If the first light remains solid red after an extended period (up to two minutes), the connection attempt was unsuccessful.

  • Cycle power to the LANKIT and retry the connection.
  • Double-check that the router is operating correctly. Reset the router if necessary.
  • If the first light turns green, but the second light is red, the LANKIT could connect to the router but not to the Centralus server.
  • Check the internet connection from the router and retry.
Flash RedThis is in direct connect mode and searching for networks.
Flash GreenTrying to connect to the Wi-Fi Access point.
Solid GreenConnected to Wi-Fi Access Point.
Flash AmberReceiving a message from central.
CELLKIT

When using the residential CELLKIT with the I2C commercial controller, some common LED usage lights will help you determine the communication.

LEDStatusDescription

Solid BlueEstablished a connection

CellAmberWaiting for the modem information
Blinking GreenWaiting for the cellular/Internet connection
Solid GreenSuccessfully connected to a cell tower, got an IP address, and connected to the Internet

CentralFlashing AmberReceived a message from Centralus or a block of image has been downloaded during an OTA update.
Solid GreenConnect to the AWS MQTT Broker
Solid RedConnection to the AWS MQTT Broker failed. CELLKIT will wait between 15 seconds to 15-minutes before retrying the AWS connection
